first_imgWILMINGTON, MA — Here are highlights from the Wilmington Police Log for Tuesday, September 11, 2018:A caller reported an explosion and sees flames on the railroad track on Westdale Avenue. Police responded. The transformer on top of the pole across the tracks has flames. RMLD and Fire Department notified. RMLD in contact with railroad engineers and flagmen. (6:47am)Police assisted with a vehicle lockout at Nichols Funeral Home. (10:29am)Police issued a citation for failure to stop for a pedestrian in the crosswalk on Shawsheen Avenue. (1:56pm) Fire Department reported a tree branch was partially obstructing the sidewalk and roadway on Middlesex Avenue. Homeowner said the tree was on town property. Police notified Tree Department to respond tomorrow. (3:58pm)A caller requested an officer after a neighbor’s dog growled and jumped on her grandson when he was playing in the street. (4:28pm) A truck driver admitted to taking down wires on Catherine Avenue. RMLD and Verizon notified. (5:50pm)A female party reported several cars were parked in the roadway and mentioned a group of juveniles. Speech was garbled and difficult to understand. Police responded. Cars gone upon arrival. Caller said she was upset because juveniles were toilet papering.
