The Woodfibre LNG Project has been given its environmental assessment certificate by the Environment Minister, and the Natural Gas Development Minister. The project has a price tag of $1.4-$1.8 billion, and will have a facility with liquefied natural gas storage, a marine terminal, and LNG shipping by carriers.The project is the second to have been granted a certificate after a substituted environmental assessment. Substituted refers to the Environmental Assessment Office conducting a single process that meets federal and provincial requirements.It’s estimated the project will produce 2.415 million tonnes of LNG per year.
