Awareness programmes are being conducted for the public and sarpanches also take initiative and sensitise people of respective villages to complete the task, she said. She assured of complete cooperation from the officials. Speaking about the Haritha Haram programme, the Collector said the target for this year is to plant 2.75 crore saplings. She said nurseries in the villages should be protected and make sure that palm and tamarind trees each five percent in every nursery. She announced that Rs 4,000 will be given towards construction of the pits. She also explained them about segregation of wet and dry waste in the villages.
